A German Doctor, Dr Samuel Hahnemann, discovered a different approach to cure the sick, which he called homeopathy in 1796. Homoeopathy is based on the principle of nature i.e., let likes be treated by likes(similia similibus curenter). According to this law, a disease of a sick person can be cured by a substance that has the ability to produce similar symptoms as of that disease in a healthy human being.

Homeopathy is an effective and scientific system of healing, which assists the natural tendency of the body to heal itself. Homoeopathy is a natural method of treatment, aimed at curbing the suffering of the patient through a medicine that possesses the power of producing a similar artificial suffering in the healthy human beings. This method of treatment has been contributing towards the curative and preventive health care of the patients for more than two centuries.

Homeopathy medicines work by stimulating the body’s own healing power. This power of the body is very great and many complaints heal themselves unaided. But when the healing process is faulty, blocked or slow, the homeopathic medicine acts as a stimulus to the curative powers of the body. To provide this stimulus, homeopathic physician prescribes the right remedy and right dosage for you.

Because the medically active substances in homeopathic medicines occur in minute amounts (nano particles), homeopathic medicines are considered non-toxic with no known side-effects, making them extremely safe for all. Also there is no danger of dependence, addiction or of a life endangering over dose.

There are no known drug interaction risks between homeopathic medicines and conventional pharmaceutical drugs. Thus an individual, who is taking for example a conventional prescription blood pressure medication, could also take a homeopathic remedy for the common cold without fear of the two medications having a negative side effect.

The dosage of conventional medicines can be tapered or stopped subsequently when there is improvement with homoeopathic medicines.

Most homeopathic remedies are derived from natural substances that come from plants, minerals, or animals. A remedy is prepared by diluting the substance in a series of steps. Homeopathy asserts that this process can maintain a substance’s healing properties regardless of how many times it has been diluted.

Many homeopathic remedies are so highly diluted that not one molecule of the original natural substance remains. Remedies are sold in liquid, pellet, and tablet forms. For more information, please refer the Homoeopathic pharmacy page.

Selecting a right medicine is a science as well as an art in itself. Based on the information provided by the patient and through personal interview with the patient, we try to find out the most suited medicine based on the individual and characteristic symptom of each case.

Specially developed computer programmes also help to a great extent in selecting the perfect medicine in each case Therefore, if the patient is able to give the right symptoms of his disease along with his individual and characteristic feeling we are able to exactly match them with a suitable medicine and prescribe the right medicine.

Homeopathy is based on the philosophy that the body, mind and emotions an integral part of a human being and are not really separate and distinct. Constitutional treatment in homoeopathy refers to the treatment of a person as a whole. Based on this perspective, a homeopath seeks a remedy that fits all of a patient’s physical and psychological symptoms and individualises the case for an individualized prescription.

To explain it appropriately in common language, if more than one person is suffering from a same/ similar disease, the treatment for all those persons is different in homoeopathy.

Homeopathy can be extremely effective in treating chronic and long-term health problems and in this process of treatment it strengthen the body’s immune system and to prevent future occurrences. Therefore, it is important for a homeopath to conduct an in-depth interview of a patient to ensure a proper analysis of the case and in turn encompassing a correct remedy.

The name of the medicine is not disclosed for the benefit of the patient. Homoeopathic medication is guided by a principals of homoeopathy called posology. If the patient after knowing the name of the medicines starts taking it according to his or her whims and fancies, then it will distort the disease picture and future treatment of the patient will be much more difficult.

Also certain medicines have to be changed and given as per the state of the disease and recovery. If the patient wants a copy of the case, record can be provided to the patient but at the end of the treatment, when patient has completely recovered.

There are no expiry dates for homoeopathic medicines. Yet the medicated globules may be rejected when the white colour changes. If the medicine is in liquid form, then a change in its colour or appearance of some sediment in the liquid would mean it is time for discarding the medicine.

Freshly medicated homoeopathic pills have smell of alcohol which gradually diminishes with passage of time. But some patients attribute it to be diminution of their efficacy and do not like to continue those odourless or dried pills. This is a wrong notion, because the quality of the medicines remains unaltered in the pills, even if the alcohol content evaporates.

It is advisable to store homoeopathic medicines in a dry, cool place and away from direct sunlight to keep them from perishing from heat etc. Also, the medicines should be kept away from the strong-smelling substances like perfumes, onion, garlic etc.

Homeopathy has no bar for age and sex. It is equally effective for every human being in every stage of their life from birth till death.

Off late homoeopathy has been extensively used by veterinarians on animals and horticulturist on plants and are yielding results far better than prevailing conventional methods.

Homoeopathic medicines can be safely used during pregnancy. In fact women who are under homoeopathic treatment tend to enhance the health of not only the mother but also the child. The child’s intra-natal health can be bettered so that the new born shall be ready to face the external conditions after birth.

Homoeopathically managed pregnant women tend to deliver their babies normally. Even the post delivery conditions like breast milk can also be improved. It is advised to take medication during pregnancy under the guidance of qualified Homoeopathic doctors only.

Prevention is better than cure. Homoeopathy has proved beyond doubt its efficacy in preventing diseases like Japanese Encephalitis, Chikangunya, Malaria, dengue, swine flu in the recent epidemics.

Yoga and Homeopathy both share many fundamental principles and they both complement each other enormously. They can both be used to achieve greater levels of health, harmony and wellbeing. They both work to increase and unblock the flow of energy by utilising the energy currents and energy centres of the body.

In Homeopathy we call this energy the Vital Force and in Yoga it is called Prana, but they are essentially the same things, just with different names (in Chinese Medicine it is called Chi). Homeopathy and Yoga both understand that the harmonious flow of this energy through the body is what actually governs and maintains health within the physiological body.

This myth is popular, because most of the people approach a Homoeopath after they have tried all kinds of treatments and by that time their acute complaints will become chronic.

Homoeopathy is, in fact, FAST AND RAPID IN ACTION in conditions like acute infections, fever, diarrhoea, etc. while in cases of chronic diseases as the disease has been there since a long time it does take time to cure but recognizable improvement starts within few weeks time.

It is a myth. Scientific double blind studies have indicated that homoeopathy is not placebo effect. The effect of homoeopathic medicine has been observed during clinical trials carried out for various diseases. Recognized homoeopathic institutions are carrying out these clinical trials. In India, there is a regulating body, the Central Council of Research in Homoeopathy, which monitors these research works and keeps record of these trials with scientific evidence.

The latest researches by scientist reveal presence of Nano particles in Homoeopathic medicines. They have used high resolution spectra microscopes and even the highest dilutions of the homoeopathic medicines have the medicinal Nano particles. This research will now break the barrier of being branded as faith healing and prove homoeopathy scientifically.

Homoeopathic medicines are prepared in an absolute alcohol base. The white sugar globules or pills are only a medium or vehicle, for the transport of the medicine into the body. The liquid medicine is dispensed in the sugar globules that are made from lactose. As the preparation method of all the medicines is the same, the pills also appear same.

The notion that homoeopathy works well in chronic cases is true but it works equally well in acute cases too.

The additional advantage is that the recurrence of acute problems like that of tonsillitis, recurrent cold and coughs, frequent skin allergies is markedly reduced by the use of constitutional homoeopathic medications. Homoeopathy has excellent medicines to treat colic, diarrhoea, headache, cough, toothache, viral fevers etc.

Yes, it does. Surgery is a separate branch of medicine. It has to be resorted to in conditions that are beyond the domain of medicine. But one can avoid surgery in certain cases, as homeopathy can effectively treat many so called surgical conditions like tonsillitis, piles, warts, kidney stones etc.

It is a myth. It does not happen to all cases. But if medicine is repeated more than the need, or the potency chosen is higher than required by the patient then there is a medicinal aggravation or increase in the complaints, but these symptoms are very short lived and would subside on its own or as soon as that medicine is withdrawn and the right potency medicine is administrated for getting the curative action.

Therefore homoeopathic medicines should always be taken under the guidance of a homoeopathic physician.

Yes It can. The minute sugar globules actually have a very negligible sugar value. In fact the Sugar intake in the daily diet is significantly higher than that taken by a few globules. In very severe cases, if required, the medicines can be taken in dilution form.

Homoeopathy has proved its efficacy for the treatment of not only the functional problems but also structural pathology. Numerous documented cases where the reversal of the structural pathology has taken place indicate the depth of homoeopathic action. Clinical studies on diseases like hepatitis, renal calculi, cancer, tumours, fibroids, polyps have shown improvement with homoeopathic medicines.

It is a myth regarding restriction in diet like onion, garlic, perfume, paan and tobacco. These medicines have been used on patients who are habituated to coffee and betel. HOMOEOPATHY ALWAYS ACTS.

But yes, certain dietary restrictions are advised wherever necessary, when the physician ascertains that it may hinder the action of homoeopathic medicines. Some foods can deactivate the action of homoeopathy medicines and in such cases restrictions are required.

But it is always better to avoid certain foods which produce aggravations in the patient and also surrounding conditions which worsen the patient’s status.

A registered homoeopathic practitioner undergoes training of five and half year to obtain a Graduation degree i.e., Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S) and another three years to obtain a post graduation masters degree in homoeopathy (M.D.(hom)).

As any other medical professional, our educational curriculum involves all the subjects taught to the students of modern medicines except modern pharmacology. Additionally four subjects on Homoeopathy are added to our curriculum. i.e., Organon of Medicine, Materia Medica, Homoeopathic Pharmacy and Repertory.

Homoeopathy advocates treatment based on the symptoms which the patient describes to a doctor. The prescription is purely based on the symptoms and not the diagnosis. If a patient describes his symptoms perfectly in Toto, then the physician can prescribe the medicines to him with accuracy.

But as a matter of fact diagnosis is also of utmost importance for a Homoeopath. His sound knowledge of disease will help him differentiate between common symptoms of disease and the individualistic symptoms of person. This will help him to individualise the case which is the thumb rule of homoeopathic prescription.

Yes. Investigations have as much relevance to us as any other practitioner. Depending upon the investigations done, we arrive at a diagnosis which will help us to understand the symptoms. Any investigations done prior to or after your consultation, must be mentioned and shown to the attending physician.

Homoeopathy is no panacea. It has its own scope and set of limitations.

Few examples of areas where homoeopathy can offer 100% cure are Allergic disorders, Asthma, ENT, Female disorders like Menstrual troubles and Hormonal disorders, Infertility, Skin disorders like Eczema, Psoriasis, Urticaria, Mental disorders, Pshyo-somatic disorders like IBS, Hyperacidity syndrome, Headaches, Respiratory infections and Stress, auto immune disorders like vitligo, psoriasis, ankylosing spondylosis etc.

In disease where irreversible structural changes have taken place like malignancies and AIDS, Homoeopathy does act and improves the quality of life.

Limitations of Homoeopathy include emergencies like myocardial infarction, paralytic strokes, diabetic comas, accidents, cases where surgery is inevitable like third degree piles, hernias, coronary artery blockages, etc.

Homoeopathy aims to help the patients achieve freedom from limitations in their lives and to reach a level of health where they can live a better and healthier life.

No. It is a misconception that has been developing in the recent times. This misconception has been propagated by anti-homoeopathy brigade because they are afraid. This is because homoeopathy has gain momentum and has been popular in recent times. As per W.H.O. homoeopathy is the second largest stream of medicine used after the conventional allopathic medicine. The fear that homoeopathy will succeed over them is the cause of this notion. The fear is also because our treatments are revealing remarkable improvement in many diseases in a very short span of time.

All homoeopathic medicines are prepared by using scientific predefined methods of extracting the medicinal properties from source substances. There is no scope or need to adulterate the derived medicines with any other substances, as this would completely obliterate the curative properties of the same. The prescription of homoeopathic medicines is based on the similarity of the symptoms of the patient with those produced by the drug (in its purest form) when proved (clinical trials) in healthy individuals.

So any addition to the original medicine would completely alter its medicinal properties and hence alter it non-curative. Also if steroid is added the medicines will taste bitter. If the patient has any doubts he should check the medicines from a standard laboratory before consuming any quantity.

Nothing of medicinal nature is permissible while taking homoeopathic medicines. But in many cases, it is observed that certain patients after continuing allopathic medicines for a long time, become drug-dependant. When they give up those medicines abruptly and resort to homoeopathic medicines alone, there are chances of adverse reactions.

This happens usually in patients suffering from Diabetes mellitus, Hypertension, Bronchial asthma, Epilepsy, etc. Instead of withdrawing the allopathic medicines suddenly, the doses of allopathic or any other medicine can be gradually tapered, along with appropriate administration of homoeopathic medicines. In doing so, the treatment of the patient may eventually be limited to homoeopathic medicines alone ultimately.

If a patient on homoeopathic treatment develops certain emergency condition which warrants immediate attention and is not controllable by the homoeopathic medicines, then he can take allopathic medicines. Once such emergency situation is controlled, he can resume homoeopathic treatment.

There is absolutely no reason for taking a wise decision. The same goes for taking your first step towards Homoeopathy. No matter the age or past medical record, Homoeopathy has got something to offer to every ailing being. We shall be glad to serve you and let you know more about this wonderful medical science.
